Come Home to Your Body
Testimonial:
Somatic experiencing is a name I've been hearing lately, so when I learned that my trusted chiropractor Dr. Calah was offering this work I came to it with curiosity. I've been a healer for 30 years and have explored many modalities. What a surprising gift to come away from my very first session with a new lens toward my embodied existence, actionable self-awareness about my life, and deepening friendship with myself! Gentle, powerful, simple, transformative. Warmest of recommendations!

Somatic Sessions offer a gentle, body-based approach to healing. In these sessions, we slow down, listen to what your body is saying, and support what feels right for your system. Each session is unique, drawing on touch, movement, energy work, mindfulness, and other gentle practices. There’s no pressure to “fix” anything— we just hold space to reconnect with yourself.
All of you is welcome here. We’ll work at a pace at which lightness and ease can keep up with you.
What to Expect
Somatic Sessions are slow, spacious, and deeply attuned containers for healing, exploration, and reconnection with your body’s wisdom.
Rather than focusing on fixing or analyzing, we listen. We pay attention to what’s happening beneath the surface—sensations, impulses, breath, subtle shifts—and follow the body’s natural cues. You might find yourself lying still, tracking sensation with curiosity. You might move gently, breathe more fully, or rest into supported touch.
Modalities
The work can be hands-on touch, energy work, movement coaching, mindfulness and self-compassion practices, and principles of Somatic Experiencing®. Sessions are customized to match your needs.
What Is Somatic Experiencing®?*
Our nervous systems are built to respond to stress and danger. But when something overwhelming happens and we aren’t able to fully process or respond to it at the time, our systems can get stuck in incomplete survival patterns. These stuck patterns live on in the body beneath conscious awareness, and can show up later as anxiety, reactivity, chronic tension, emotional overwhelm, or a sense of disconnection.
Somatic Experiencing (SE) is a gentle, body-based approach to healing trauma and stress. The goal is not to erase difficult experiences, but to integrate them so that they no longer shape your behaviors and emotions in limiting ways.
The work begins by establishing a felt sense of safety. Without this foundation, the nervous system can’t settle or heal. We might then explore patterns slowly, using the tools of titration (working in small, manageable pieces) and pendulation (gently moving between activation and regulation). This helps the body complete responses that were once interrupted, restoring more flexibility, capacity, and choice.
Touch in SE
Touch can be a powerful part of somatic work. When used skillfully and with consent, it offers another way to connect with the body’s implicit memory and deep regulation pathways. I’ve spent 20 years as a clinician building a responsive and intuitive touch, and I think this is something special that I can offer for my clients.
Touch in SE is not prescriptive or invasive—it is always collaborative, respectful, and attuned to what feels right for you in the moment. The choice is always yours.
Is This Right for Me?
This work is for anyone seeking to feel more at home in themselves. Whether you are navigating stress, trauma, chronic tension, or simply longing to slow down and listen inwardly—Somatic Sessions can meet you there.
